Last night, I did something shameful.
Desperate for a face mask, I took the car out at 8 pm (late for me), drove to CVS, and forked over $4 (in ECBs, at least) for a Freeman’s face mask. I say shameful simply because I can’t stand impulse purchases, and the idea that I managed to actually get out of the house and drive at night means I was really motivated!
When I got home, $4.39 face mask in hand, I felt silly.
Why didn’t I just look up some homemade face masks on the Internet? After all, I have ripe avocados and bananas sitting right on my kitchen counter. Surely those are good for something, no? Although I am a natural gal, I must say that I only feel good with a heavy, thick face mask, and I seem to associate those with clay — something it seems easier to pick up the drugstore than get out of my pantry.
Stupid, no?
So, with my store bought face mask drying on my face, I looked up a few great homemade face mask recipes I hope that you (and I!) will try next time.
- Homemade Clay Face Mask
- Yogurt Face Mask
- Oatmeal and Yogurt Face Mask
- Homemade Cat Litter Face Mask (yes, really!)
Do you have a favorite homemade face mask recipe?

you are too funny! 8 is late for me too!
I have been using Freeman face products since I was in middle school! I love their facemaks! I’d say it was totally worth the drive and $4!
I love the clay mask and it is quite thick as well
