If you’re not familiar with Usborne books, then you are missing out on some amazing children’s books. We own quite a few and they are all high quality, many of them are educational, and all of them are fun and appealing.
Usually they are a bit on the pricey side (well, this is coming from the woman who gets most of her kids books used). However, I was checking out one of my current advertiser’s sites, an Usborne store, and noticed how many good deals there were that I thought I should share a few of them with you!
Internet Only Specials: There are a lot of fun books and even puzzles, many of them for as low as $4 or less, and some a bit higher than that.
Closeouts: These are similar prices. Most of them are Spanish books, one German book (My First Hundred Words- we have this in Japanese and love it), and some computer books.
Here are a few money saving tips from Susie, the book shop owner:
1)For the closeout and internet only specials pages I would suggest this – check one page’s prices against the other. Occasionally there may be an item listed on both pages but at different prices. (Currently ‘Flower Jigsaw’ is on both pages but are less expensive on the internet only special page!)
2)If you find an item that you want to buy – before you buy it check to see if it is also found on the closeout or internet only special pages. (For example – ‘Sosu’s Call’ is listed at $15.95 on the general website but on the internet only special page you can buy it for $9.57!)
3)The items on the close out and internet specials pages are changed frequently so check often. If you see something you like then buy it because it might be removed from the discounted list later! Items there are 40-90% off; in fact there are 2 books there right now for a dollar a piece!
4)The Christmas recordable book is a great value – it is a similar book to the one sold by Hallmark for a similar price ($29.99) but mine includes 2 Christmas CD’s and 3 activity books!!
5)’Value Packs’ on the tool bar at the left of the home page screen features multiple book packs at reduced prices
She’s also got a Christmas promotion that for any orders over $150 (in a single transaction) not only will you receive the regular Usborne credit of $15 for orders over $85, but you’ll also receive a $25 gift certificate to spend on a future order.
I know, I know, it’s not a “green” deal, nor is it organic food to fill tummies… but, there you have it. I like good kids books and I figure that some of you do, too!
