There are some new Green Giant coupons available at Coupons.com:

  • .40/1 Green Giant 19-24 oz Frozen Bagged Vegetables
  • $1/1 Green Giant Stir Fry Frozen Meal Starter
  • .60/3 Green Giant Frozen Boxed Vegetables

Though I’m not a fan of getting the bulk of your veggies frozen (fresh is always better), frozen vegetables do retain most of their nutrients so I think that they can have a small place in a healthy, whole foods diet. Plus, they are infinitely better than store canned veggies.

My suggestion is to pick ones that don’t have any sauces or seasonings added. Plain old frozen veggies like peas and green beans can be handy to keep around. Personally, I get bags of organic frozen veggies (corn, peas, and sometimes green beans) for a really good price from Costco, so that’s another option if you shop there.

And please, whatever you do, don’t steam them in the microwave in plastic! Remove them from the package, and cook them in a regular pot of water or fry them in a pan with some good, old-fashioned fat. :)
